Product Marketing Manager / Product Manager (US Remote)
Job Description
The product marketing manager is responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities to continuously improve the Science Buddies platform to drive growth and increase student engagement and learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with chief software architect to continuously improve platform functionality and user interface.
- Conduct research on how to improve the science project experience for students and educators and translate that into new resources, features, and functionality for our platform.
- Manage and grow our new pathways resource to better support students and educators working on independent science projects.
- Analyze data to track overall impact of Science Buddies platform and resources.
- Analyze traffic and search trend data to ensure effective use of SEO strategies to drive organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.
- Develop and analyze surveys to better understand audience needs.
- Write case studies that serve to communicate our impact with external audiences including funders, partners, and the broader STEM ecosystem.
- Build and manage a community of educator evangelists to increase visibility for our work.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A sincere interest in science and/or science education is a must
- Bachelor's degree or higher with an outstanding academic record
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- 2+ years experience in product marketing preferably with a focus on software or technology products (K-12 education market is a plus)
- Ability to apply user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisions
- Thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization; able to juggle multiple projects at once
- Hands-on, strong work ethic, and can-do attitude
- Strong computer skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint expected; experience with programming, and SQL extremely desirable
- Experience working on independent science project as a student, mentor, volunteer, parent, or similar capacity is extremely desirable
